We are seeking a postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a collaborative project and work with Dr Alessandro Torrielli. The main type of work for the post involves doing research in integrable systems and AdS/CFT correspondences in lower dimensions in the context of string theory, particularly AdS2/CFT1 and its connection to AdS3/CFT2.
The Research Fellow will conduct literature review and theoretical investigation and validation of the main hypotheses set out in the project proposal. Based on critical thinking and rigorous analysis, take initiatives and challenging the original hypotheses is encouraged. One or more publications (solo or joint authorship) in high-ranking mathematical journal is expected.
The post holder must have (by the time of appointment) a PhD in pure/applied mathematics or in theoretical physics, and a good track record of research in mathematical and/or theoretical physics. In particular, research experience in integrable systems, quantum field theory and string theory is desirable.

Please note, it is University Policy to offer a starting salary equivalent to Level 3.6 to successful applicants who have been awarded, but are yet to receive, their PhD certificate. Once the original PhD certificate has been submitted to the local HR Department, the salary will be increased to Level 4.1.
