This 18-month post, based at the University of Bristol, will support research activities within Data Donation project. The research project builds on knowledge in psychology, public policy, ethics and data science to study the public acceptability of using commercial transactional data in public health research.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in sociology, psychology or related discipline, have proven expertise in qualitative research methods and publications in high quality journals. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the ethics of data science and will be enthusiastic about opportunities that commercial data analytics offer for academic public health research when used in ethical, privacy-preserving manner.
They will be willing to learn beyond their current skill set. They will be efficient in communicating results of the project to a variety of academic and non-academic stakeholders in appropriate forms including academic publications, research reports, policy briefing and talks.
