Role Description

You will be part of a team responsible for staffing the Library Service Desk, which involves answering customer enquiries, via the phone and online. 

Other duties would involve: journals management, online record updates, shelving and tidying books, book weeding and reorganizing library resources. You would also be involved in administrative duties in support of the Library Service.

Educated to GCSE/A-level with experience in a relevant service role and of assessing and responding to non-routine demands are essential requirements. 

Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work methodically and accurately are also essential. 

Days of work will be: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm to 7pm and alternate Saturdays from 10am to 3pm (except during August). 

Barrington Library is open from 8am until 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am until 3pm on Saturdays (September to July).
