Duties & Responsibilities            

Position Summary

The Department of Educational Sciences invites applications for a faculty position in Methods of Teaching Science beginning in the Fall semester 2019 (Sept. 2019). The candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda; provide excellent advising; teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in Science Education; supervise graduate students; provide innovation to instruction; engage in committee service within the School, College, and University; and a strong commitment to a sustained professional profile that contributes to the College, the University, and the community.

Candidates will be considered for the position on the basis of the selection criteria below. The candidate should address these criteria in the application:

1. Teaching experience in higher education in the field of Teaching Science.
2. An active research profile in the area of specialization.
3. Ability to use ICT for personal and professional purposes.
4. Experience teaching courses in Science Education.
5. Experience in teaching graduate courses and supervising Master Thesis.
6. A record of publications that warrants appointment at the rank of Full/Assistant Professor.

Qualifications

1. Doctorate in Educational sciences / Methods of Teaching Science or cognate area.
2. Minimum of 5 years teaching experience with demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching.
3. Excellent ICT skills.
4. Academic and professional record including promotions, advancement, publications, and presentations.
5. Bilingual (Arabic & English).

4. Three referees’ contact information (physical and email addresses as well their telephones contact).
5. Copy of highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where course work was completed. However, if no course work was completed, an copy of certificate letter from the registrar of your highest credential granting institution regarding your highest academic degree).
6. Personal statement explaining the applicant’s role in leadership, education, research and experience,   expressing the reasons for applying for this position.
7. At least one recommendation and two references, including contact details and addresses of e-mail providers stated number of these recommendation/references.
8. Any additional documentation that you feel is relevant to your application.
