An exciting opportunity has arisen in the technical services team supporting the School of Veterinary Medicine within the pathology and post mortem area, supporting our pathology based teaching and research programmes.
Now in its 5thyear, the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Surrey has benefitted from substantial investment in excess of £45m and aims to deliver the highest quality teaching and research using multi-disciplinary approaches within the purpose built, state-of-the-art facilities.
Working as part of the technical services team you will have a professional and committed attitude with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Working alongside Veterinary surgeons/pathologists you will assist with post mortem activities and will have experience of working within an ACDP 2 facility and knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements and processes. Knowledge and experience of the safe handling and disposal of animal tissue samples will be required. You will support academic colleagues in delivering pathology teaching and will support students in their learning experience.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly and reliably as part of a team, supporting others and taking responsibility for the success of the team. Applicants should be aware that there may be the requirement to undertake physically demanding work (e.g. Lifting of materials).
