We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as a Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in Critical Skills (Digital Writing and Communication). Candidates should have an interdisciplinary background that explores how technology is transforming writing. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda and be prepared to teach hands-on skills courses in areas of digital communication, including digital writing, digital/media literacy for citizenship, new media, open source, data mining and data visualization, digital ethics, and writing theories. The applicant's research and teaching interests should encompass a variety of contexts, including areas such as advertising, journalism, public relations, cultural studies, critical studies, ethics, identity and representation, and the social construction of knowledge. The successful candidate will contribute to a shared Critical Skills course syllabus.

Lecturer (Post 1995): €52,849 - €83,090 p.a. (7 points)

Assistant Lecturer (2018): €33,479 - €58,761 p.a. (14 points)

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
