Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology (Ref.: 494136), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable in Hong Kong and the F.R.C.R. (UK) or equivalent, preferably with experience in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or Positron Emission Tomography (PET). They should have proven capacity and potential, and a track record of active research and successful external research grant applications. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and the ability to conduct postgraduate courses and supervise M.Phil. and Ph.D. students, and be able to reinforce and advance the strengths of the Department in the broad spectrum of medical and health sciences education. Ability to speak Cantonese would be an advantage, although teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English. The appointee is expected to organize, develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; conduct high-quality research; provide clinical services and training at the University's teaching hospitals in Hong Kong and the HKU-Shenzhen Hospital; and contribute to administrative duties in the Department and the Faculty. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
