Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science (Ref.: 494082), to commence on August 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

The Department of Computer Science is a forward-looking Department committed to playing a leading role in the software and information technology initiative in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region.  We offer programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and have excellent computing resources, well-equipped teaching and research facilities and support.  Further information about the Department can be obtained at http://www.cs.hku.hk/.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.  For Senior Lecturer, applicants should have at least 6 years’ full-time teaching experience in tertiary institutions and have demonstrated teaching achievement and/or contribution to knowledge exchange (e.g. teaching awards, teaching-related grants). Evidence of innovative teaching approach and contribution to course design and curriculum development would be an advantage.  For Lecturer, applicants should have at least 2 years’ teaching experience in tertiary institutions. The appointee will provide high-quality teaching, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Computer Science; and undertake projects on pedagogical innovations, curriculum enhancement and knowledge exchange.  He/She will also be required to contribute to the University administrative services.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
