Adjunct Position in Intermediate Biblical Hebrew

Harvard Divinity School seeks an adjunct instructor/lecturer in Intermediate Biblical Hebrew (2nd year Biblical Hebrew) to teach an eight-week intensive course on intermediate and advanced intermediate Biblical Hebrew from June 17 to August 8, 2019, as part of the Summer Language Program in Cambridge, MA. This is a summer appointment only and will not be continued into the academic year. The teaching material covers the target language up to intermediate/advanced intermediate competency (equivalent to a second year of college instruction in intermediate Biblical Hebrew). A one-year prior knowledge of Biblical Hebrew is a prerequisite for students to take this class. Candidates for the teaching position should be competent in the target language and have proven experience in college/university teaching. The appointment title will depend on the finalist’s qualifications. Ph.D. or other terminal degree required.
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications: (1) completed advanced degree and (2) substantial experience in teaching Biblical Hebrew at all levels. Previous publications are desirable, but not required.
