The role of the Clinical Research Coordinator-B (CRC-B) in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is multifaceted, complex, and variable.

We are seeking a trustworthy individual who is team-focused, can competently support multiple protocols, engage diverse patient populations, advance the heterogeneous research interests of multiple PIs, and positively represent our Department to sponsors/CROs. The successful candidate will have, or quickly gain, the specific regulatory and operational job knowledge required to fulfill all the normal functional tasks of the CRC role at Penn and will supplement these with protocol specific training as appropriate. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, appreciation for human subjects protections, and great customer service are all required. We have a diverse team and seek fully engaged individuals who enjoy the work for its own sake and can be trusted to work independently.

A Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years to 4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. This is a professional position that will be primarily stationed in the UPHS setting rather than in PSOM space. The general work week is 40 hours per week. Willingness and ability to accommodate study and Departmental/Institutional needs outside the specific 40 hour window is expected and required. We also welcome individuals who have completed graduate school (Masters or PhD) who wish to transition into clinical research to apply. Well-developed speaking, writing and public relations abilities. Proficient math skills to ensure proper billing reconciliation, milestone tracking, and investigational product accountability. Compliance with UPHS vaccination and immunization policies is required. Compliance with other Departmental policies applicable to Clinical staff is required.

Must pass Pennsylvania’s Child Protective Services Act (also known as Act 73) background checks, within 30-90 days of employment. Valid drivers license required.
