Job Summary

Post-doctoral Research Fellow sought to oversee analysis of a mail survey data regarding adaptation to climate change among individual forest landowners. The goal of the research is to describe and explain how individuals perceive and respond to local hazards and risks from global climate change. The post-doc will oversee a team of graduate and undergraduate students to quantitatively analyze mail survey data from owners of a random of forested parcels in areas that have experienced climate impacts in the Upper Midwest.

The School for Environment and Sustainability’s overarching mission is to contribute to the protection of the Earth's resources and the achievement of a sustainable society. Through research, education, and outreach, the faculty, staff, and students are devoted to generating knowledge and developing policies, techniques, and skills to help society manage and conserve environmental resources sustainably.

Responsibilities*

  • Overseeing data management and analysis
  • Supervising research assistants
  • Preparation of reports, journal articles, presentations based on analysis
  • Assist with preparation of grant proposals

Required Qualifications*

  • PhD in social science field
  • Experience with social surveys, survey data entry and data management
  • Expertise in statistical analysis
  • Experience supervising research assistants

Additional Information 

Start date: ASAP 

Term: 6 months, 40 hours per week (part time employment may also considered)
