Greenwich Learning and Teaching (GiLT) fosters learning and teaching excellence across the university by offering co-ordinated leadership and support of quality assurance and enhancement; a portfolio of development activity; and a forum for staff and student engagement with the learning and teaching agenda. The Quality Lead (Programmes) is responsible for the management and delivery of processes to assure and enhance the quality and standards of the university’s portfolio of degree programmes, with lead responsibility for the approval and review of programmes and modules.

The Quality Lead (Programmes) will manage the approval and review of programmes and modules; you will also act as Executive Officer for the Programme Approvals and Review Committee. You will line manage the Quality Officers (typically four posts) and be responsible for task management of the wider team of Quality Officers for activities pertaining to their areas of responsibility. With the Head of Quality Enhancement (QE) and fellow Quality Lead, you will also play a lead role in managing the university’s cycle of programme portfolio and university reviews. You will work with the Head of QE and GiLT academic team to embed an evidence- and enhancement-led approach to programme development and review, and to identify, celebrate and share good practices in learning and teaching. You will also work with the Student and Staff Engagement Coordinator and Greenwich Students’ Union to ensure effective student representation and engagement in quality processes.

You will have a strong understanding and experience of the quality and regulatory environment in UK HE, and of systems and processes to assure quality and standards in learning and teaching (for all modes of provision, e.g. on-campus, online or blended). You will also have an awareness of good practices, developments and trends in HE learning and teaching, and experience of working to integrate quality assurance and enhancement in HE. You will be able rapidly to master the technical requirements of assuring quality and standards, and be adept at analysing and interpreting both qualitative and quantitative evidence of learning and teaching quality, with excellent attention to detail. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and organisational skills.
