Job Details

Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University is one of few business schools worldwide that have double AACSB accreditation for both Business and Accounting. We have an outstanding reputation in the delivery of business relevant programmes that are underpinned by research. Northumbria's improvement in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework for research power was reported as being the biggest in the country, and within our Business and Management submission over 60 % of our Impact was assessed as either world leading or internationally excellent. In 2015, Newcastle Business School won the prestigious Times Higher Education “Business School of the Year” award.

Working within the Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Strategy, you will join a team of highly experienced scholars. You will work closely with colleagues to develop both your own research and that of others. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to research and scholarly activities contributing to the Faculty’s research profile and REF submission, together with contributing to bidding for research grants, consultancy, enterprise, and other income generation and business development activities. In return, you will receive support to develop your research, a senior academic mentor, as well as opportunity to gain experience in other areas of academic work.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with research expertise in innovation, entrepreneurship or regional development.

You will have a doctorate in a relevant discipline, research outputs which would allow you to be submitted to the REF, plus evidence of engagement with relevant research networks and research funding. You will possess advanced interdisciplinary, analytical and problem solving skills.
