Counselor at Duke Personal Assistance Service (PAS) is involved in a variety of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services and is expected to skillfully address a wide range of mental health, organizational, occupational, and personal issues that interfere with health and productivity. 

Counselor has independent decision-making responsibility in service of individual clients, work groups, and departments throughout Duke University and Health System.  

Counselor is responsible for clinical decisions regarding accurate assessment, effective short-term counseling, and disposition for clients (Duke Faculty, staff, and eligible family members) consistent with their clinical licensure and training.  

Counselor provides consultation and coaching to management to address work performance and occupational mental health issues, and provides critical incident consultation and specialized interventions to support the organization following traumatic events in the workplace.

Counselor also develops and delivers customized trainings for various facets of the Duke workforce to enhance mental health and emotional well-being.

Education

Work requires a minimum of a Masters Degree in social work, counseling or related mental health field.Current clinical licensure in North Carolina or eligible.

Experience

Three or more years of experience in social work, employee assistance counseling or related setting.OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
