At TU Dresden, the Biotechnology Centre (BIOTEC), an Institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB) offers a position in the Research Group Structural Bioinformatics as
Research Associate / PhD Student

salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting as soon as possible. The position is limited for 3 years and entails 65 % of the fulltime weekly hours. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).
Tasks: In the framework of a DFG project and in close collaboration with experimentalists, the selected candidate will apply computational methods to model, simulate and investigate protein-DNA structure, their interactions and the implications for specificity in order to guide structure-based rational engineering of proteins with customized properties for biotechnology and medical applications.
Requirements: University degree in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Physics or related disciplines; knowledge on structural / computational biology, particularly in protein / DNA structure. Experience in molecular modelling and computer simulation techniques will be an advantage.
A strong commitment to work in a multi-disciplinary and international research environment, the ability to work in a team, initiative, English language skills, as well as good learning skills are required.
The Research Group Structural Bioinformatics and the BIOTEC are excellently equipped and provide outstanding working conditions in a very international environment.
