Assistant Professor in Organismal Biology (316100) 

Job Description     
Assistant professor in Organismal Biology The Department of Biology at UAE University is looking for an Organismal Biologist - at the level of Assistant Professor - working on any organismal group with strong background in ecological data analysis. Any other fields related to environmental informatics will also be considered. We are particularly interested in applicants with a strong mathematical/statistical and computing background who have experience in developing, modifying, and implementing novel methodologies to extract and integrate information from large biological, chemical, ecological, and/or geospatial datasets. Strong GIS/RS experience as it relates to organismal biology are also encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates whose research leverages these datasets to improve our mechanistic and/or biological understanding of populations, communities, and/or ecosystems.

The Biology Department of UAE University is a research-active department with strengths in ecological and molecular research areas. The Biology Department hosts a Bachelor of Science program (with three tracks), two M.Sc. programs and two Ph.D. Programs. The successful applicant will be expected to teach in a number of organismal biology or ecology courses, including courses at the Graduate levels; develop a research program in his/her area of expertise, acquiring competitive grants from internal and external sources; and contribute towards services at the departmental, college or university levels as directed by the Head of the Department.
