Assistant Professor  in  Biochemistry (315150) 

Job Description   
The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments.    Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The appointee will be involved in the teaching of biochemistry and molecular biology to medical and graduate students at various levels and will be expected to pursue an active research program. The specific interests of the department include gene regulation, molecular biology/epigenetic of cancer and diabetes, oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction and the effects of environmental agents on immune response, the molecular basis of diseases induced by retroviruses, signal transduction pathways, and neurodegenerative diseases. It is expected that the appointee’s research interests will complement those of the existing faculty. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong Biochemistry/Molecular Biology background.

Minimum Qualification     
Candidates for this position must hold a Ph. D or M.D. or equivalent higher professional qualification from a reputed academic institution plus evidence of scholarly publications and provide evidence of undergraduate and/or postgraduate Biochemistry/Molecular Biology
