The UAE University Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for an Assistant/Associate position in the area of Thermo-Fluids (emphasis on nuclear engineering) beginning in the fall semester 2019. Candidates are expected to have Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering obtained from reputable university. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellent skills in research and in teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Relevant industrial experience will be considered as an advantage. Research and publications in the area of nuclear engineering is preferred. Successful candidates will be expected to teach traditional Thermo-Fluids courses, in addition to courses in the aerospace area. Experience in CFD and the ability to supervise Fluid and Thermal Engineering Lab courses will be an added value. UAEU faculty members are expected to advise students, perform administrative tasks required to maintain ABET accreditation, and contribute quality service at the professional level. They are also expected to develop and sustain internally and/or externally funded research in their areas of expertise, publish their research findings in well recognized journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, a brief description of current/future research activities, teaching philosophy, and courses taught. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field related to nuclear / mechanical engineering. The ability to teach undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering is a must.
Industrial and professional experience is a plus. Research in nuclear engineering area is preferred.
