Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (in Translation Programme) (Temporary - 2 years) (PR0276/18-19)
Applicants should be able to teach a variety of courses, preferably in at least one of the following areas: practical translation (for various fields), translation technology, interpreting, or linguistics. An excellent command of both Chinese and English is essential. Applicants with additional expertise in a third language will be considered favourably.
The appointee will undertake teaching at undergraduate and Master’s levels as appropriate, and will be expected to make an active contribution to the teaching culture of the Programme. They will also be expected to take on certain administrative duties.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Translation, Interpreting or other relevant fields, and should have teaching experience at the tertiary level. Applicants for the rank of Senior Lecturer should possess significant teaching experience. Industry experience of translation, interpreting, or related fields (e.g. localisation) will be considered an advantage.
Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years commencing not later than 15 June 2019.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
