Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Kinesiology in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 494030), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a relevant discipline.  They should have a strong research interest and publication record in the field of exercise, physical activity and health. A track record of high-quality impactful research indicated by publication record and external grants is expected. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching in a wide spectrum of courses in kinesiology such as exercise prescription and testing, strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, exercise and health/diseases, and exercise physiology.  The appointee will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development; conduct scientific research in accordance with the School’s strategies priorities, including its new thematic research programme of Healthy Cities in a Healthy World; undertake supervisory duties over research teams and postgraduate students; and assist in administrative duties in the School, Faculty and University.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
