About the Job
The UniSA Cancer Research Institute houses the largest concentration of cancer researchers in Adelaide’s Health and Biomedical Precinct. As impressive as the $247m health and research facility appears, what happens within those walls is even more significant.
As the Research Associate, you will contribute to externally-funded research under the broad direction of the Head: Mechanisms in Cell Biology and Disease Research Group in order to achieve defined objectives and test stated hypotheses. You will actively participate in the production of data, maintain daily comprehensive records and guide junior group members or students as part of the research group among other duties as detailed in the position description.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have post-graduate qualifications in Cell Biology or Biochemistry combined with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in immunochemistry and cancer cell biology, including excellent experimental skills and techniques. You will have high level of expertise in confocal microscopy, 2 photon imaging, and live cell imaging together with imaging processing and analysis.
The ideal candidate will also have competency with cancer cell cultures and tissue processing and imaging along with expertise in cancer tissue histology and image analysis.
