At TU Dresden, Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Institute of Power Engineering, the position of the 

Chair (W3) for Refrigeration, Cryogenics and Compressor Technology

is to be filled as of October 1st, 2020.  

The applicant shall represent the special area of refrigeration, cryogenics and compressor technology in teaching and research. The teaching duties in accordance with the examination regulations for Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering and Natural Materials Technology, Material Science and Regenerative Energy Systems lie in particular in the areas of refrigeration technology, refrigeration systems, basics of piston machines and mobile refrigeration. The holder of the position is expected to start his or her own acquisitions in the fields of fundamental and industry related research. The willingness and ability to conduct classes in English is expected. The duties include participation in academic self administration.

The candidate should be internationally recognized in the fields of mobile refrigeration and air conditioning, refrigeration processes and procedures, materials and working fluids relevant for compressors and refrigeration systems and in addition in expansion machines. Practical experience in the conception and implementation of such approaches in industry is desirable. The requirements for a pedagogical and subject-specific didactical qualification must be met in principle. The candidate should already have experience in leading national and international research and development projects.

Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).The TU Dresden stands for a teaching and research concept in which the relocation of the centre of life to or near to Dresden is desired.
