Interrogating Community Devised Arts-based Peacebuilding
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of Peace and Conflict Studies with a particular emphasis on the role of the arts in peace formation processes. The research project “The art of peace: Interrogating community devised arts based peacebuilding” is funded by the AHRC and is in cooperation with the University of Manchester, led by Professor Oliver Richmond and with In Place of War.
The co-investigator at Durham University is Dr Stefanie Kappler. The project has four main case studies: Bosnia-Herzegovina, DRC, Colombia and Lebanon.
The successful applicant will contribute to the theoretical framework of the project as well as conduct research on the Bosnia-Herzegovina case study. They will be supervised by Dr Stefanie Kappler (Durham University) and work closely with Professor Oliver Richmond and Dr Birte Vogel (Manchester University). The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the project outputs (academic publications and an evaluation toolkit for practitioners), conduct field research in Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as liaise closely with the Bosnian project partner.
