Job Summary

Seeking a Database Curator to input and summarize data about C. elegans genes, cells, gene expression, development, behavior, etc.

Job Duties 

• Read scientific literature and extract information about C. elegans
• Develop data models for developmental biology or behavioral genetic data
• Write simple scripts
• Help develop Standard Vocabulary to allow communication among biological researchers
• Communicate with front-line researchers
• Train users at scientific meetings

Basic Qualifications

• BS degree
• Research experience with C. elegans, S. cervisiae of D. melanogaster or experience as a Curator of a model organism database
• Computer literacy
• Excellent written communication
• Experience with Python, Unix/Linux command line, and databases

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate degree
