Proposed Key Responsibilities:

Advance Workforce Analytics Program

Performance Monitoring and improvement Support Director, People Analytics on workforce and People & Environment analysis

  1. Provide quality-assured data sets to help develop a more data-driven HR environment across Duke Health Monitor key HR metrics on a regular basis, and develop alerts to notify stakeholders of outliers and unfavorable trends that call for further analysis

Lead integration of key source system datasets for seamless and consistent reporting and analysis Provide seamless linkage to workforce data including productivity, budgeting, staffing & scheduling, and people data to support integrated reporting Develop, maintain, enhance & support deployment of performance monitoring tools on PS Web

  1. Build and maintain KPI dashboards to serve as entry-point to key HR metrics for HR and operations leaders Support leader development and learning by providing unit-level training Provide internal education to HR Business Partners and Performance Services CSU support teams

Support development & integration of workforce performance improvement priorities & initiatives Provide Project Management and analytical support for P&E improvement projects

  1. Process flow / value stream mapping
  2. Problem solving analytics, Performance Improvement tools and analytics, Statistical analysis and Predictive Models

Workforce Planning / Staffing Projection Maintain and enhance staffing projection models to inform ongoing hiring needs

  • Integrate Productivity, Budget, Volume, SAP employee movement, Brass Ring data
    1. Inform our Labor Management Committees on ongoing hire-ahead needs
  • Integrate budget and capital plan FTE projections to support workforce planning models

Support and Advance People and Environment (P&E) Performance Reporting

Support development of key performance indicators and targets for Balanced Scorecard (BSC) reporting and other performance monitoring Ensure consistency in measure definitions and calculations Research Benchmarks Support P&E annual BSC metric / target development process Partner with DUHS Nurse Recruitment and Retention, especially in support of Lean Human Capital performance dashboard Support Quarterly data submissions Create LHC Time-To-Fill performance dashboard Ensure consistency of dashboards / metrics across Duke Health Support Quarterly Executive Comp metric reporting Support Nurse Recruitment in development and refinement of Requisition Management dashboards and monitoring tools 

Knowledge, Skills and Talents

A passion to partner with Duke Health stakeholders to improve our workforce experience through a more data-driven HR environment Expert knowledge of working with source system data to create meaningful dashboards, performance monitoring tools and statistical analysis using SQL, Tableau, and statistical packages Ability to build predictive models to inform more proactive actions Expert knowledge of productivity, budgeting, staffing & scheduling data Familiarity with key HR metrics (workforce movement, time-to-fill, work culture, etc) Expert knowledge of process improvement techniques that would be gained from certification and use of tools taught in Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt, and Lean training or from certification from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)) Strong project management and team facilitation skills including the ability to: Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills The ability to effectively communicate data analyses and provide insights to a broad audience, from HR executives to operations leaders to fellow analysts Proficient in MS Office suite of tools including MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word

Education

Experience

Level 2 Minimum of 4 years of PS or related experience. Experience can be supplemented with Master's degree with a Masters being equivalent to two year of experience. Or, with 2 years of Duke ME I experience Level 3 Minimum of 6 years of PS or related experience. Experience can be supplemented with Master's degree with a Masters being equivalent to two years of experience.Level 4 Team Lead: minimum of 6 years of PS or related experience. Experience can be supplemented with Master's degree with a Masters being equivalent to two years of experience.Technical Lead: minimum of 6 years of PS or related experience.Experience can be supplemented with Master's degree with a Masters being equivalent to two year of experience or advanced training is technical skills directly applicable to work assignment

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously through effective priority setting, efficient use of time, and high degree of organization with attention to detail and accuracy Create project plans and manage multiple parallel deadlines, ability to identify roadblocks proactively and formulate mitigation plans
