The International Programs Coordinator coordinates the College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) Penn Summer Abroad (PSA) and short English Language Programs (ELP), and supports International Guest Student Program (IGSP), the Penn Summer Global Institutes (PSGI), the English Language Programs and other international program and student initiatives. These programs provide outbound courses for PSA students and inbound study abroad experiences for high achieving international students through both LPS and ELP at the University of Pennsylvania. As the program coordinator, this person will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations for specific programs and overall communication, recruitment, and operational support across a variety of international programs and partnerships. For PSA, coordinator support includes student application and vetting processes, scheduling and running program information sessions, enrolling students, collecting documents, maintaining Canvas sites, and providing primary faculty and student support while the programs are abroad. IGSP and PSGI specific duties include facilitating student academic success and overall program satisfaction by working with students before they arrive, providing advising and other needed support while they are on campus, and gathering feedback after they finish the program. This position reports to the Associate Director of International Programs in LPS.
Required: Bachelor’s degree and two to three years of experience working in the field of international education or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Applicants must have previous experience working with international students and living outside the U.S. Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Proven ability to work with many constituencies, diverse population of students, parents, faculty and staff in the U.S. and abroad.
Preferred: Fluency in at least one foreign language. Advising experience at the higher educational level.
