The University invites applications for the post of Lecturer in Fashion Business to join the School of Materials and will contribute to teaching in the area of Fashion Business (which may include, but is not limited to: marketing, management, fashion retailing, consumer behaviour, fashion product development, fashion CAD, etc.). This is a teaching focused role, although relevant research to support teaching is encouraged.

The post will focus on the development and delivery of the School’s new postgraduate distance learning programme. Working directly with the Director of Distance Learning, you will contribute to the design, development and ongoing refinement of online teaching content and media and will deliver campus-based and online teaching, assessment marking and support of students on the distance learning programme and other taught programmes offered by the School as appropriate. You will have an advanced postgraduate qualification, with relevant teaching and research experience, the ability to design and deliver course materials and assess participant performance and the ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally, in writing and via digital platforms.

The School of Materials is the largest in Europe and has specialist research focusing on fashion, retailing, management, marketing and textiles along with aerospace, composites, metals, ceramics, biomaterials, and polymers. Accordingly, the diversity of the School allows for an interdisciplinary approach to materials manufacture and engineering.

The School is committed to promoting equality and diversity, including the Athena SWAN charter for promoting women’s careers in STEMM subjects (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine) in higher education.
