An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the newly created Bristol Trials Centre (BTC) as a QA manager. The BTC was derived through a merger between two UKCRC registered clinical trials units in Bristol, - the Clinical Trial and Evaluation Unit (CTEU) and the Bristol Randomised Trials Collaboration (BRTC).

The post holder will have overall responsibility for the generation of a Quality Management System (QMS) of the BTC, ensuring it is compliant with sponsor requirements as well as national and international standards for the conduct of clinical research. The successful candidate will take the lead role in bringing the QMS of the existing clinical trials units together and help to harmonise working processes, implementing efficiencies in workflows and tasks where possible.

The successful candidate will be required to have an in depth understanding of the UK policy framework for health and social care research, the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004 (SI 1031) and significant experience in Quality Assurance (QA) within a clinical research environment, ideally in an academic environment or clinical trials unit. You will also have experience of developing standard operating procedures (SOPs). Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with a proven ability to use tact and discretion are essential, as is the ability to remain calm whilst managing multiple deadlines.

The successful candidate will need a flexible approach to their duties, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Please contact Prof. Rogers (Chris.Rogers@bristol.ac.uk) for any queries.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world’s leading universities.
