A 3-year post-doctoral position (one of two posts) is available in Bristol’s CamoLab funded by BBSRC grant BB/S00873X/1 “Concealing 3D objects”. The overarching aim is to develop a computational toolkit, and research pipeline, that can determine the best (or worst) camouflage for any object in any environment for any viewer (different species or, indeed, machine vision). Background and specifics of the study systems can be found at https://gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref=BB%2FS00873X%2F1.
The other Research Associate will take primary responsibility for collecting the photographic database and performing experiments; the post described here will take the lead on the computational analysis, using deep neural networks.
For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Innes Cuthill on 0117 394 1175 or i.cuthill@bristol.ac.uk (email preferred)
We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world’s leading universities.
