Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for talented and motivated postdoctoral research fellow to carry out an interdisciplinary and translational project on developing and studying novel small molecule inhibitors as targeted therapies in cancer.

Responsibilities*

The candidate is required to have a strong background in cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology/drug discovery or a related field. The candidate should demonstrate expertise in various cell biology and molecular biology techniques including PCR, qRT-PCR, stable and transient transfection, immunoblotting, co-Immunoprecipitation, ChIP, ChIPSeq, flow cytometry. The research will be focused on evaluation of the activity and the mechanism of action of novel small molecule inhibitors targeting different pathways including apoptosis and epigenetics targets. In our studies we are using human tissue and blood samples from patients with hematological malignancies and thus candidate will gain exposure and knowledge of the translational aspects of the research projects. The postdoc is expected to publish multiple first-author high quality papers, attending conferences, help supervise graduate students and rotation students. The laboratory has multiple NIH and non-NIH sources of funding.

Required Qualifications*

Applicant must have PhD in cellular and molecular biology or related field. Evidence of scholarly ability, record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, including first author publications. This position requires experience in cell and molecular biology techniques. The candidate is expected to conduct independent scientific investigations, to be a team player and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
