Job description

The research project will combine biochemical and molecular biological methods to identify and characterize novel coincidence detectors. Central methodology involves proximity protein biotinylation in combination with mass spectrometry, generation of recombinant and knock-out cell lines, and analyses of cells by advanced light microscopy.

Qualification requirements and personal skills

  • Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in molecular biology, cell biology or equivalent
  • Extensive experience with proximity biotinylation and analyses of mass spectrometry data
  • Strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry
  • Extensive experience with cell culture and confocal microscopy
  • Experience with viral transduction and establishment of stable cell lines
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and image analysis for quantification
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

The candidate should be highly motivated and dedicated, and should have strong collaboration skills.
