Applications are invited for a three-year postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol working with Valeriy Slastikov and Jonathan Robbins.  The position is funded by a grant from the Leverhulme Trust.

Applicants should have (or be about to receive) a PhD in mathematics or a closely-related discipline and have a proven record in the broad area of nonlinear partial differential equations and applied analysis.  Experience in one or more of the following areas would be particularly relevant: nonlocal PDEs; geometrical and symmetry methods for PDEs; calculus of variations; micromagnetics.

The research project will be focused on the analysis of topological structures of high physical and technological interest, including charged and chiral domain walls and magnetic skyrmions.

The position is available from 1 May 2019 for up to 3 years, with flexible start date.  The appointment will be on Research Grade I, with starting salary up to £35,211 per annum.
