DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, System Design and Management Program (SDM), to perform complex and diverse duties for a program that includes eight core staff and six shared staff and two tracks (SDM master’s program and SDM certificate program). Will provide primary support to the executive director, career development director and financial officer and assist the rest of the department with communications, planning, logistics, and other administrative support. Will work in collaboration with other staff to build and maintain relationships with students, faculty across MIT, alumni, and industry that further the career goals of the SDM community.
A high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years’ administrative or related experience; excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; diplomacy and tact; ability to work effectively with others at all levels, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, problem solve, and function both independently and as part of a team; meticulous attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Office on both Mac and PC platforms; experience with arranging travel, paying invoices, purchasing, and account reconciliation; discretion and sound judgment with confidential information. Bachelor’s degree or coursework toward a bachelor’s degree, experience in higher education, and experience with Salesforce and SAP preferred. Job #17070-5
Must be able to work occasional early morning (6:30 A.M.), evening (9:30 P.M.), and weekend hours.
