Manchester University Press is a leading academic publisher producing outstanding books and journals in the humanities, history and social science fields.
This position in our busy production department involves reviewing handovers and assisting with editorial services tasks as well as having day-today responsibility for a number of new books. Duties include liaising with in-house departments and authors, and coordinating the work of freelancers, typesetters, printers and eBook suppliers, to deliver titles within budget and on schedule.
As well as strong English language skills and a proficiency in standard office software such as Word and Excel, you need to have good organisational and communication skills. You should also have a keen eye for detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines. Some experience of book or journal production is desired, as is some experience of copy mark-up and proofreading.
