This Senior Research Associate position is for the role of CONNECTED Network Manager (0.5 FTE, job share) and requires maternity cover from April until December 2019.
The Network Manager is part of a team funded by a grant awarded to Prof. Gary Foster (Community Network for African Vector-Borne Plant Viruses; CONNECTED). The Network Manager helps oversee and lead a variety of work areas to build a sustainable Network of multi-disciplinary international scientists to address the problems created by plant virus vector-borne diseases, primarily through awarding pump-priming funding, and running conference and training events in the UK and Africa.
The post holder will work closely with their job-share partner and share the line management of the Communications Officer and Executive Assistant. They will also work with the colleagues in the University’s Cabot Institute, Research and Enterprise Development (RED) and the University finance and support services, the BBSRC and other BBSRC-funded GCRF Networks, and a wide range of international scientists, stakeholders, policy makers and funders.
