About the position

This newly created position works with a high degree of autonomy to support the work of the Higher Degree Research (HDR) Administration Unit. The Unit is a central Office, supporting the Chair of Graduate Research. The Manager, HDR Unit will have significant responsibility in developing and implementing policies, systems and strategies that support the Bond University higher degree research (HDR) students. The position directly supports the academic role - Chair of Graduate Research. 

Additional key duties will include, overseeing, coordinating and managing all aspects of the administration of the degree management for the higher degree research students. In conjunction with the Chair of Graduate Research, the Manager is responsible for overseeing the HDR enrolment and completion targets for the University.

The Manager, HDR unit is directly supported by the HDR Support Officer and also works closely with the Associate Deans (Research), Faculty based research support staff, Research Services, Finance, Student Services and the Office of Future Students.

About the person:

Ideally, the successful candidate will possess a Higher Degree by Research qualification and/or a suitable qualification and relevant working history. Significant experience working in Student Administration, including financial management and reporting is essential, preferably in a Graduate Research School/Office.

The Manager, HDR Unit will be an exceptional communicator, with advanced time management and prioritisation skills. Effective stakeholder management with the ability to achieve desired outcomes is required, as is the ability to apply policies and procedures and use independent judgement skills to solve issues as they arise.

Experience working in a Graduate Research role and experience in supporting Committees will be an advantage.

Salary details:

Remuneration for the appointment will commence at $92,187 plus 17.5% superannuation.
