Professor in Statistics
The Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago invites applications from exceptionally qualified candidates for a faculty position at the rank of Professor. We seek individuals with a doctoral degree in applied mathematics, statistics or related disciplines. A demonstrated research excellence appropriate to the rank is essential. As part of a University of Chicago initiative, applicants would be expected to work in applied mathematics with a focus on addressing problems in science and engineering.
It is expected that all successful applicants will be recognized leaders in their field and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration. Appointments may be made jointly with another department in the University's Physical, Biological, or Social Science Divisions. The successful candidate will also be responsible for conducting graduate and undergraduate courses in Statistics or Applied Mathematics. Specifically, duties will include course preparation, review and grading of assignments, and academic advising of individual students as requested.
