The School of Vocational Engineering Health and Sciences offers a diverse range of certificate, diploma and sub-bachelor programs, and provides opportunities for students to extend their learning across the entire spectrum of vocational and higher education both within the College and beyond. With strong education links to industry, the school conducts a number of large-scale training contracts.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

We are seeking expressions of interest for new sessional teachers in our trades program areas (Electrical, Refrigeration, Instrumentation, Carpentry, Plumbing). Programs support qualifications from Cert II (pre-apps) to Cert IV.

As a Teacher, you will be responsible for the delivery of course material, assessing students and the supervision of students enrolled in selected courses in the School. Participation in the School's continuing reviews of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (including on-line delivery methods) and methods of students' assessment will also form part of this role. You will interact with external organisations, industry groups and RMIT teaching and administration staff.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Relevant industry experience, a current industry licence (where applicable), qualification at or above the level being delivered.
  • Cert IV TAE40116; or Cert IV TAE40110 + TAELLN411 + TAEASS502 units
  • Appointment is subject to passing a Working with Children Check.
