• Academic Level A Base Salary: $73,420 p.a. - $92,682 p.a. plus leave loading and a generous employer’s contribution to superannuation.

About the opportunity

Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work with a team investigating metabolic diseases. Carry out independent research that is in keeping with the aims of the lab and the CPC. Coordinate a number of research programs and ensure timely completion. Develop and apply methodologies, as the need arises, and teach new methodologies to members of the group and wider university community as needed. To establish considerable expertise in a unique area such as cell biology, molecular biology, microscopy, small animal experiments, data analysis and disseminating this skill base to other members of the team at CPC as well as external researchers.

• BSc (Honours) or equivalent and PhD (or near completion) in Cell Biology/Biochemistry/Physiology or closely‐related discipline.
• Published in the fields of obesity/metabolic disease/type 2 diabetes/insulin action/adipose biology/ dislipidemia/ genetics.
• Experience in interacting with/presenting to the public about their research.
