HEAD OF FINANCIAL AND FAIR VALUE REPORTINGMIT Investment Company (MITIMCo)-Operations Team, to lead the Finance and Accounting Team and serve as a key member of the valuation and operations management committees.  Will be responsible for audits for MIT investments and MITIMCo-managed investment affiliate (currently twelve entities); ensure valuations are consistent with fair value and monitored and maintained consistent with valuation policy; administer appraisal and internal processes related to Cambridge real estate (RE) and certain closely held endowed assets; liaise with MIT tax department and external tax preparers to ensure filed returns are timely and accurate; act as internal subject matter expert on UBIT issues related to global investments and Cambridge RE activities; review rating agency filings; prepare external surveys related to NACUBO, Cambridge Associates, etc.; regulatory reporting; monitor MIT's investment policy limits; map fund fee calcs to liquidity model inputs and maintain attribute; coordinate Ops back-up program for oversight over liquidating managers; assist investment staff with generating and modeling fee calculations; partner on performing financial/accounting analysis on active and prospective external funds; and liaise with MIT’s Controller’s Office on matters related to investment accounting with respect to MIT’s general ledger. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: 

B.S. in accounting, finance, or related field; eight years’ asset management accounting experience (liquid and illiquid strategies); excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, managerial, and leadership skills; expert-level knowledge of GAAP accounting requirements and tax rules as applied to investment companies and private fund structures; experience managing performance reporting; ability to organize/manage multiple projects and prioritize competing needs; strong Microsoft Office skills; and keen judgment.  CPA strongly preferred.  Understanding of real estate operating and development activities a plus. Job #17053-Q
