Oxford Brookes University

Director of Undergraduate Studies, Oxford Brookes Business School

Attractive Salary and Package

Oxford Brookes University is one of the UK’s leading modern higher education institutions. In a city steeped in learning, our Business School has around 3000 undergraduates attracted to Oxford from 60 different countries. With 200 staff we are in the heart of our Headington campus and, following a £30m dedicated investment, enjoy state of the art facilities including award winning social learning spaces and contemporary teaching rooms.

We are a distinctive and successful player in the rapidly-changing and competitive undergraduate business school market and it is important that we offer a dynamic and relevant portfolio of courses and applied research that has a positive impact in the world. In our concerted effort for even greater cross disciplinary engagement the appointment of the new role of Director of Undergraduate Studies represents a fundamental shift in how the School delivers, moving away from a traditional, departmentally based programme portfolio.  Whilst specialist subject areas and related teaching staff still exist, this role has been designed to lead the development, management and delivery of exciting, innovative and above all boundary-crossing programmes aligned to our overall strategic direction of ‘impact through collaboration’.

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor & Dean of the Business School, our new Director will be a key member of the School’s Executive and will by definition have senior cross School responsibilities.  Positive, driven and a natural collaborator candidates will be able to demonstrate their creativity in leading our undergraduate portfolio through its next stage of development. In articulating a clear strategic vision for the future and motivating others to work collectively towards that vision, candidates will bring a contemporary understanding of the national and international higher education environment and how Brookes can maximise our impact by providing a relevant and attractive portfolio.
