Harvard Medical School
The Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School (http://dbmi.hms.harvard.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track opening at the Assistant Professor level.
The successful candidate will develop an independent research program in biomedical informatics, broadly defined. Areas of interests include, but not limited to, machine learning (applied to clinical, imaging, and/or genomic data) and decision sciences (applied to clinical workflow and/or diagnostic/therapeutic decision making) as well as bioinformatics and genomics. We seek a candidate who will be a leader in his/her respective field and share our vision for transforming biomedical science and healthcare.
Applications should be received by February 15, 2019 but will be considered until the position is filled.
Candidates must have a proven quantitative background and must demonstrate substantial innovation and methodological rigor in their approach to scientific inquiry in biomedicine or in the translation of computational methods to engineering/software applications in medicine.
All qualified applicants must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent), postdoctoral experience and an appropriate publication record. Whether developing basic computational methods, modeling molecular mechanisms, or engineering new clinical applications, we expect all successful recruits to share our focus on transforming biomedical science and healthcare delivery.
All faculty are expected to contribute substantively to our educational programs through teaching and mentorship.
