The School of Social and Political Sciences is at the forefront of teaching and research in the social sciences in Australia. The School has a team of dedicated academic and professional staff in the disciplines of Political Science, Criminology, Anthropology and Sociology as well as our allied research centres providing a dynamic and rewarding environment for staff and students.
The Lecturer in Criminology (Level B) will be a committed, engaging teacher and researcher with specific expertise in one or more of the following areas: transnational crime, border criminology, terrorism/counter-terrorism, organised crime, radicalisation or whose work complements the existing Criminology profile at the University of Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and will assist in the development of new subjects as appropriate; supervision of RHD students is also a requirement. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the research reputation of the Criminology discipline in the School specifically and of the Faculty of Arts more generally and will also undertake research resulting in publications with leading publishers in the field. The successful candidate will foster engagement links with external networks/partners nationally and internationally and will be expected to take on administrative tasks associated with the appointment and to perform these responsibly.
