Chair - Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neuroscience
The University of Chicago invites applications for a Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience in the Division of the Biological Sciences.
The Department's teaching mission includes medical students, residents, and fellows undergoing advanced training. The Chair plays a pivotal role in building and supervising clinical programs that are part of the University of Chicago Medicine enterprise. Research activities in the Department include both basic science and clinical research. The Chair reports to the Dean and Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and is responsible for strategic planning and leadership in research, academic, clinical, and administrative areas.
The successful applicant must qualify for a senior faculty appointment. Rank and tenure status will be dependent on qualifications. We seek a colleague with an outstanding record of academic accomplishments who has demonstrated excellence in patient care, education, and research, and who can lead, mentor, and manage an academic unit in a university-based setting.
