MACHINIST A, Laboratory for Nuclear Science (LNS), to set up work and operate machine tools with minimal supervision. Wil work to close tolerances from blue prints, specifications, verbal instructions, or sketches; and make tools such dies, jigs, and fixtures as required. May direct and train machinists of a lower grade.
REQUIRED: a minimum of five years of applicable experience as a machinist, familiarity and a high degree of skill with all commonly used machine tools, and the ability to lift 75 lbs. and to remain in a stationary period for extended periods of time (up to two hours). This position requires precision programming and running of CNC controlled Bridgeport lathes and Bridgeport, Prototrak, and HAAS milling machines. Knowledge of programming using Mastercam would be a plus. Job #16921
