Role Description

The Lecturer in Cyber Operations will be responsible for:

  • Generating and collaborating in bids for research funding to various bodies including research councils, industry and government.
  • Supervising post-graduate students at Masters and Doctoral level.
  • The ongoing development and delivery of a range of educational interventions, in particular MSc modules, on the Cyber Masters Programme and MSc Information Capability Management.
  • Pursuing an active research agenda, aligned with the Centre and Group's research strategy, this will involve publishing in relevant high-quality peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Enhancing the Centre and Group’s professional standing, reputation and impact.

The post holder will plan their own workload to take advantage of new opportunities while continuing to develop and deliver high quality teaching.  The post requires significant levels of problem solving ability, most notably within the research portion of the post.

The post holder will have a Masters level education in a related area and/or equivalent industrial experience and evidence of continuing professional development.

Experience of research in a University/Government/Private Sector research laboratory and a track record of delivering impactful cross-disciplinary research is essential. 

A PhD in an appropriate field and a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (or equivalent) is desirable.
