ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, CSAIL ALLIANCES, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL)-Alliances, to join CSAIL Alliances, which manages interactions and engagements with industry, governments, external organizations, start-ups, and the public.  Alliances currently operates nine programs and several high-profile conferences.  Will work with the managing director on managing and fostering productive relationships that support and encourage ongoing collaborations with member companies; advancing and growing engagements with member companies; maintaining a select portfolio of companies with prime management responsibilities; serving as the lead for managing the production and marketing of professional programs and conferences and driving expansion globally through partner channels; managing and cultivating prospective member companies; managing staff and day-to-day operations; and securing new members across all programs. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred); ten years’ experience working in client relations and strategic partnerships, five years’ management experience, and experience managing managers of teams; comfort in a start-up environment; flexibility; excellent program management, interpersonal, relationship management, client service, leadership, team-building, supervisory, organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, financial, and written and verbal communication skills; experience creating new programs/activities/services to support larger strategic goals; market-orientation; self-motivation/initiative; discretion and judgment with confidential information/issues and in all communication; and high-level of proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and graphic design applications.  Must be able to work across all levels of higher education, government, and industry; keep teams, projects, and deliverables on track; understand, communicate, and present complex technical information in both sales and service contexts; think strategically; set priorities; coordinate multiple tasks, meet competing deadlines, and deliver results; and work under pressure and with minimum supervision.  Experience developing and managing budgets, proficiency with Salesforce, and knowledge of MIT preferred.   Job #17004

Must be able to attend evening and/or weekend meetings/ events and travel domestically, and potentially internationally, up to 10% time.
