How to Apply
A lab technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Lei Lei in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan Medical School. Lei laboratory studies mammalian ovarian development using mouse model system.
The lab tech will take care of the lab mouse colony, including performing routine daily check and genotyping; assist other lab members with experimental trouble-shooting; assist in general lab maintenance, organization and record keeping.
The lab tech should be familiar with techniques such as: mouse tissue dissections, PCR, DNA gel-electroporation and basic molecular cloning.
- Bachelor’s level degree in biological science. Previous experience in mouse handling is required. Research experience in molecular biology and histology are highly desired. A successful candidate should also be able to clearly communicate using English.
- Associate Level: 0-1 years of experience
- Intermediate Level: 1-3 years of experience
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
