Job description
We are seeking high quality candidates to support the GBP 30m expansion of engineering provision at the University of Central Lancashire. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for the subject of engineering, excellent communication skills and have experience of teaching along with a research or industrial background.
Successful candidates for this post will have BEng or MEng in motorsport engineering (or a similar subject) and a PhD, or equivalent industrial experience, in a specialist area of motorsport engineering.
They should also be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills, including the capability to motivate and support students and an ability to contribute to new course developments. Previous involvement in motorsport competition will also be an advantage.
The role will involve: teaching, research and knowledge transfer, contributions to new developments growing out of our existing courses motorsport engineering and support for the development / use of distance learning and innovative teaching methods within the School.
Successful candidates will ideally have prior experience in teaching in higher education to first degree level and research and industrial experience in motorsport engineering.
The successful candidate will display the potential to engage in internationally competitive academic research and/or support clients who are industrial partners of the Engineering Innovation Centre. They will have the willingness and ability to travel within the UK and overseas to support motorsport competition and develop courses and or collaborative research activities.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and team working skills.
