AgriBio is a world-class facility for agricultural biosciences research and development, creating better science outcomes for the benefit of Victoria and Australia. The AgriBio facility brings together researchers from both the Government (DJPR) and University sectors to advance critical research in Agricultural Biosciences.

About the position

Working as part of the School’s technical team based at AgriBio, and reporting to the Senior Research Facilities Coordinator, this position will specifically provide services supporting the plant growth facilities in AgriBio allocated to the School. This includes glasshouses, screenhouses, growth chambers and CERs. Where required the position will provide assistance, advice and plant material in consultation with academic staff and the Senior Research Facilities coordinator.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will possess:

  • A science degree or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience in botany, agriculture, horticulture or related area.
  • Knowledge and experience of techniques in plant growth and propagation, and in the use and maintenance of plant growth facilities including major glasshouses and controlled environment spaces.
  • Well developed technical skills and problem solving capability to assist with trouble shooting experimental paradigms, and other scientific research relating to native and cultivated plants.
  • Experience in field botany/ecology, including collection and identification of native and introduced plant species.
